蘋果將於本週三向三星發起新一輪的專利訴訟，要求賠償金額高達 20 億美元。這次，蘋果公司將利用五項實用專利對三星提起訴訟，包括iPhone 的輸入錯誤自動校正，滑動解鎖主螢幕和允許用戶來尋找設備的「通用搜尋」。蘋果指控三星侵犯上述專利的設備包括：Galaxy S III 和 Galaxy Note II 並要求三星為侵犯專利的每款設備支付 40 美元賠償費。

三星反擊表示：蘋果的 iPhone 5 和 iPad mini 抄襲三星產品。而且，三星還請來 Google Android 的工程師參與此次訴訟，目的在於削弱蘋果在美國的主場優勢。三星要求的賠償金額為 2200 萬美元，這讓蘋果要求的 20 億美元賠償略顯誇張，但蘋果回應道：重罰是為了保護加州的創新和就業。
