伊朗女數學家 菲爾茲獎首見女性得主

國際數學家大會(International Congress of Mathematicians，ICM)12日宣布，出生於伊朗的數學家米爾札哈尼(Maryam Mirzakhani)，成為史上第一位贏得菲爾茲獎(Fields Medal)的女性。

1977年在伊朗出生的米爾札哈尼，是一位在美國哈佛大學受教的數學家，同時也是加州史丹佛大學(Stanford University)的教授，她是這次國際數學家大會在南韓首爾舉行的會議中，宣布的4名得獎者之一。

ICM在聲明中讚揚說，米爾札哈尼熟練於非常多元範圍的數理技巧和異於平常的數學文化，她展現出一種對高超技巧、勇敢無畏的野心、高深遠見和深切好奇心的罕見結合。

米爾札哈尼擅長於不尋常模式的幾何，她曾在2009年榮獲布魯門塔獎(Blumenthal Award)的純數學研究進步獎、並在2013年獲得美國數學學會(American Mathematical Society)頒發的沙特獎(Satter Prize)。
