黃 道 是 個 圓 形 ， 若 將 它 分 成 360 度 來 表 示 太 陽 的 位 置 ， 這 個 數 值 便 稱 為 黃 經 。 只 要 把 黃 道 座 標 轉 換 成 赤 道 座 標 ， 就 能 找 到 太 陽 的 赤 緯 值 了 。

假 設 太 陽 在 黃 道 上 作 均 速 運 動 。 在 春 分 那 一 天 ， 太 陽 的 黃 經 為 0∘ ， 因 此 ， 太 陽 某 一 天 的 黃 經 L = ( D - 80 ) 365 360∘
若 L < 0 則 加 上 360&compfn;
D 是 當 年 過 了 的 日 數 ， 例 如 在 2 月 1 日 ， D = 32 ； 在 3 月 21 日 ， D = 80

太 陽 赤 緯 = sin-1(sinε sin L)
ε=23.4393&compfn; 為 黃 道 面 與 赤 道 面 的 交 角 （ 這 個 角 度 會 作 長 周 期 變 化 ， 這 裏 給 出 的 是 近 似 值 ）
