紐約時報將裁100位員工

紐約時報1日表示，為了控制成本並發展數位化，他們計畫裁減100個編輯部工作機會，也將停用一款主打專欄的app，因為缺乏足夠訂戶。

紐時裁撤的人力約占編輯部1,330名員工的7.5%，比率為歷來最高。紐時近年來在紙本沒落的環境中掙扎求生，紛紛加強數位內容、同時拋售波士頓環球報等非核心資產，卻持續面臨來自營運成本較低的數位媒體挑戰。

紐時第2季淨利為92萬美元，遠不如一年前的2,010萬美元。紐時為擴大投資數位版本而生的營運成本，也造成獲利下滑。數位廣告營收雖然增加3.4%，但卻難以彌補紙本廣告營收的6.6%減幅。
