花蓮監獄技訓藝文展示中心啟用參觀方便

長期以來監所學生作品展覽室都在戒護區內，外賓參觀須經過層層關卡，極為不便，法務部矯政署花蓮監獄把展示中心移出戒護區，不但參訪方便，典獄長劉世添構思和附近旅遊業者結盟，擴大觀光效益，也藉此讓大眾看到矯正機關教化藝文成果，作業技訓藝文展示中心9月17日下午隆重啟用。

花蓮監獄位於風光明媚的鯉魚潭風景區以及慕谷慕魚旅遊景點附近，是相當靠近觀光人潮的矯正機關，因為監所學生藝文作品繁多，也適合外界人士欣賞選購，於是把展覽會館設在接見入口區，大幅提升能見度，典獄長劉世添表示希望讓更多人接觸學生的藝文創作，給予肯定，也提高自營作業收入與績效。

展示中心展出的作品不限於花蓮監獄，還有來自其他矯正機關，作業科長楊垂雄說，包括木雕、石雕、書法都有很棒的作品。

目前花蓮監獄共有1800多位收容人，在生命教育藝文教化活動也開設許多班別，像是合唱團、爵士樂、國樂團及沙畫等，藉由音樂和藝術陶冶學生心性。
